News On 6 To Host FAFSA Phone Bank

Americans owe nearly $1.5 trillion in student loan debt, but there's free federal financial aid available that can ease the burden. Students who complete the FAFSA form - or Free Application for Federal Student Aid - can access nearly $22 million in Pell grant funds.

Only 50 percent of the Tulsa region's class of 2017 enrolled seniors completed FARSA form even though completion is proven to make a difference. There is a 30 percent increase in postsecondary enrollment if FAFSA is completed for low to middle income students.

News On 6 will be hosting a phone bank to help you and your family get financial aid for college. Trained volunteers from Impact Tulsa will be on hand to answer your questions.

ImpactTulsa has provided resources to over 15 school districts since 2014.  

The FAFSA phone bank will be working from 4 to 6 p.m. at 918-732-6166 on Wednesday, October 25, 2017.
