The mayor of Jenks is sharing his vision for how the city should move forward.
At Wednesday's "State of the City" address, Mayor Dr. Josh Wedman touted some of the city's recent projects like the widening of Main Street as well as the commitment to making the community more "green" by adding trees.
Dr. Josh Wedman also addressed the need to invest in infrastructure and said it's time to upgrade the town's sewer system.
He says Oklahoma's education challenges are affecting teachers and students in Jenks.
"I just really feel like our teachers need to feel appreciated and respected. I think if that happens we have no way not to go up," said Mayor Dr. Josh Wedman.
The mayor says he sees education as a priority encouraged people to talk to lawmakers in Oklahoma City.
