Going to the Rogers County fair? Animal lovers can pick up a limited edition Jerzy the Court Dog T-shirt benefiting the Humane Society Disaster Relief Fund.
Therapy dog Jerzy and handler Mindie Baab will be at the fair from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and all day Saturday. Shirts are $10 to $15 depending on size.
All profits from the shirts go to the Humane Society, according to Michelle Lowry with the Rogers County District Attorney's Office.
Jerzy is an Aussiedoodle and a regular at Rogers, Mayes and Craig county courthouses. She's on hand to comfort children who are interacting with the justice system - or act as a "furry security blanket," according to her Facebook page.
She also visits schools, nursing homes and hospitals.
Jerzy, Rogers County therapy dog Sugar Bear and their handlers accepted donations last weekend for the Humane Society's Disaster Relief Fund. Residents helped them send over 400 pounds of food, $860, and other pet supplies to distribute to local animal shelters with Hurricane Harvey rescue animals.
The Fair is in Claremore at 400 Veterans Parkway.
