Muskogee County authorities say they've captured an inmate who escaped on Tuesday.

Sheriff Rob Frazier says deputies captured Skipper Rowland, 35, at  around 7 a.m. after getting a tip that he went into a home on Highway 64 in Warner.  He says deputies went to the home and called for Rowland to come out of the house, but got no response.

Frazier says they ended up sending in a Muskogee Police Department’s K-9 officer into the home, where they found Rowland lying on a bed.  Deputies arrested Rowland without incident.

The sheriff says Rowland knew the person who lives at the home, but he says no one else was inside when Rowland was recaptured.

He says Skipper Rowland is cooperating with investigators.  Rowland told them he stole a pickup truck shortly after escaping near Morris, then traded that truck for another one with someone in Webbers Falls.

Deputies have recovered that truck.

Rowland escaped from a transport van in Okmulgee County on September 5th.  The Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office says he got out the van when it stopped at an intersection near the community of Morris.
