Tulsa firefighters, who are members of the Oklahoma Rescue Task Force, left Monday morning for Texas to assist with rescue operations.
The group, which consists of 15 Tulsa firefighters and eight others, said they got a request Friday to come to Texas to help with flood rescues. The group received their official order Monday, August 28 at about 7 a.m.
The task force sent two water rescue teams consisting of four boats and 23 members, as well as heavy rescue equipment.

The task force is headed to Katy, Texas, to set up their base of operations and they will be deployed from there.

The group plans to be in Texas for 14 days.
