The Cherokee County courthouse and Tahlequah City Library will remain closed for the day after someone called in a bomb threat early Wednesday, July 12.

The sheriff's office says no device was found after two Oklahoma Highway Patrol bomb dogs searched both buildings.

Undersheriff Jason Chennault says a man using a cell phone from the Coweta area called at around 6:30 a.m. and said he had planted a device in both buildings that would detonate in several hours.

Chennault says an investigation into the incident continues. The Sheriff's Office is trying to find the caller and may release the 911 call. No word yet on what may have motivated the caller to make the threat.

The courthouse is located at 213 West Delaware Street and the library is at 120 South College Avenue.
