Family, Friends Remember Tulsa's Wayman Tisdale

Friday, June 9th would have been the 53rd birthday of Oklahoma and NBA basketball great Wayman Tisdale.

People gathered in Tulsa Friday evening to eat, listen to jazz music and remember the life and legacy of Tisdale.

His daughter, Tiffany Tisdale is the chef of Tisdale23 catering and event planning.

She served up southern comfort food at Tulsa's Kitchen 66 at 9th and Detroit Friday, which she says was her dad's favorite. 

"June 9th is my dad's birthday, which is why we choose June 9th and he was really into parties and having a good time, so I felt this was the best way to honor him," said Tiffany Tisdale.

Tiffany plans to make Wayman Tisdale's birthday an annual celebration.
