It's no secret Tulsa Tough can be a big party for the spectators, but don't think the racers don't know how to have fun too.
One group came all the way from California, and they're not opposed to having a good time.
"We're like the yacht-rock of cycling, I would say,” said cyclist Zach Allison.
Team Clif Bar is no stranger to Tulsa Tough; they've been coming to Green Country since the race started, and for the newcomers, it's the atmosphere that made it a can't miss.
"I wanted to come to do this because it just sounded nuts and fun, and I wasn't disappointed,” said rider Stephan Hoffman.
If you watch these guys, you’ll notice they stay loose.
"Some people are crazy serious and they only eat fish and potato chips or something weird,” said Allison. “So, you probably wouldn't fit in on our team."
A.J. Turner added, "Last year was pretty sweet. After the race was finished, we kind of are doing a slow victory lap after and immediately Team Clif Bar, in our full get-up, walked right into the bar and started dancing.”
When it comes to the racing, these guys say they're all well-rounded and that gives them a diversity that could be an advantage.
"We can really poke the bear enough times on some of these big teams where they'll get frustrated,” Allison stated.
They'll need to use those talents this weekend.
Everyone on the team agreed this year was the deepest field they've seen here at Tulsa Tough.
