A Tulsa man who was arrested last week was charged Friday with several counts of arson in connection with a string of fires in west Tulsa.

Christopher Charles Smith, 37, is accused of setting fire to at least four vacant houses near Charles Page Boulevard and 65th West Avenue. Those houses, a church, a truck and a dumpster were set on fire between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 1 a.m. Thursday, June 1.
Smith's arrest report states he bragged to witnesses about the fires, saying he used a lighter and dropped drug paraphernalia in front of one house.
Smith was charged with four counts of second-degree arson and two counts of malicious injury or destruction of property, according to Tulsa County District Court records.

Smith remains in the Tulsa County Jail and is being held on $81,000 bail.
