The aroma of pecan pie will flow across downtown Okmulgee this weekend as the 34th annual Okmulgee Pecan Festival kicks off.
The three-day festival begins at 5 p.m. Thursday, according to the event's website, and will conclude at 11 p.m. each night. News On 6 Meteorologist Travis Meyer will open the festival from downtown Okmulgee.
The free, all-ages event will feature food trucks, arts and crafts, live music and cooking competitions. Local entertainer Brent Giddens is set to host Street Dance Night, which starts at 7 p.m. Thursday.
