One of Oklahoma's Own is getting a lot of recognition for being the youngest competitor in the history of the National Spelling Bee.
Tulsa's Edith Fuller spelled all her words correctly on stage but was kept out of the finals based on her performance in the written portion of the bee.
Mayor G.T. Bynum honored the young speller Wednesday for her remarkable accomplishments with a key to the city.
"Congratulations and thank you for representing our community so well. We're so proud of you," he said.
Bynum also proclaimed Wednesday Edith Fuller Day in Tulsa.
