Claremore Police are looking for a man they say opened fire on a car. Officers call it a case of road rage.
Police said a vehicle was leaving the McDonald’s parking lot near Country Club Road and Route 66 is riddled with bullet holes after a man on a motorcycle shot at the vehicle.
Police said no one was injured.
Resident Randy Shelby drives to the shopping center with his six kids regularly. He said news of the shooting worries him.
"We're here at least two or three times a week, at least,” Shelby said. "Anywhere I go, my kids are always with me."
Even police say this isn't your typical run of the mill crime in Claremore.
Deputy Chief Steve Cox said, "3:00 in the afternoon in Claremore, yes, it was very surprising when we got the phone call."
Cox said they're looking at surveillance footage from local businesses and said they need witnesses to come forward.
"Anyone that would resort to shooting somebody over, maybe some road rage, or getting cut off, or somebody blowing a horn, yes that's very concerning, and that's somebody we want to get off the street," Cox said.
Shelby said from now on he'll be on the lookout for trouble the next time he's driving in that part of town.
Police said the man on the black motorcycle went east down Country Club Road after the shooting.
They are asking anyone with information to call the police tip line at 918-283-8255.
