A Stigler man was killed when his SUV crossed into the path of an oncoming semi in Haskell County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The fatal wreck took place around 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 just east of Keota in Haskell County.
Troopers say Jeffrey Peevyhouse was eastbound on Highway 9 in a Chevrolet Caprice when he crossed the center line for an unknown reason and hit a Freightliner driven by a Wisconsin man.
Peevyhouse, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver wasn't hurt.
OHP said Peevyhouse was not wearing a seat belt. His condition before the wreck is listed as unknown.
