A storm system will be exiting the area this morning as the main upper trough ejects to the east. Some wrap around showers will remain possible early this morning but should end between 7 am and 10 am across the entire eastern Oklahoma area.
Clouds will remain optically thick this morning but will also thin-out some around the noon hour with decreasing clouds and mostly sunny conditions for the 2nd half of the afternoon. Highs today will stay in the lower 70s for most locations along with a gusty north wind from 10 to 20 mph.
Tonight, into Saturday a surface ridge of high pressure will be nearing the area and allow for clear sky and cool overnight temps in the upper 40s and lower 50s by early Saturday morning. Daytime highs Saturday will be near the upper 70s north and a few lower 80s southern Oklahoma with sunshine and a return of south winds from 5 to 12 mph.

Sunday into early next week a warming trend will begin with lows in the 60s and highs in the mid-80s.
Next week another western U.S. trough will be positioned to the northwest and west of the state. Several disturbances are expected to round the base of the trough and eject across the southern and central plains with the southwest flow providing several days with thunderstorm chances.
Tuesday into Wednesday a disturbance will approach and bring a chance for storms across western Oklahoma that may migrate eastward into the area by Wednesday morning. Another stronger disturbance will be likely Thursday into Friday that may linger into earl next weekend with active weather including thunderstorm chances returning to the state. Temps will be above the seasonal average.
Thanks for reading the Friday morning weather discussion and blog.
Have a good day.
