Patriots, Falcons, Lions, Titans and the Jets are among teams interested in former Owasso Ram Keon Hatcher.
But after some setbacks, he's ready for his NFL moment, a dream since he was a kid.
"That's where it all started,” said Hatcher. “I fell in love with football in middle school in the sixth grade and it really just took off from there."
Hatcher was always a threat to find the end zone as a Ram. After heading to Arkansas, he kept it up through his first three years as the top Hog receiver.
But senior year, he suffered a broken foot. After a redshirt season, Hatcher is now able to set his sights where they've always been – the NFL.
"God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers and I feel like I'm one of his strongest soldiers,” he stated. “I feel like it's so many emotions in one. You know I'm just taking it for what it is and just stay patient and thanking God for the opportunity."
But that's been tough. At the NFL combine, he wasn't at his best. And he missed Arkansas' Pro Day due to injury, meaning he had an individual workout.
"They could see how bad I wanted it,” he recalled. “You know just going out there and just putting forth my best foot, they were really impressed after the workout."
Now, Hatcher is projected as a Saturday pick.
"Never know, never know what can happen,” he said. “But that's, so far, what I'm hearing from teams. You know, there's about 10-12 team interested in me."
He’s happy to have the opportunity and represent his family and Owasso.
"It feels good to have my family behind, supporting me,” he said. “It's been a long journey, a long road. But the crazy part about it is it's like you're just getting started, so you know, you just got to take it all in and stay patient and be ready."
