Betty Shelby Evidence Submitted As Trial Looms Near

As the first-degree manslaughter trial looms for Tulsa Police Officer Betty Shelby, the judge is still deciding what evidence will be allowed.

Officer Shelby's trial is slated to start Monday, May 8th, but two items were due to be turned over to the court by noon Tuesday, April 25.  

One of those is a video re-creation of the scene of the shooting of Terence Crutcher. That video was turned in last Friday.

The other was a summary of expert testimony which was also turned in last week.

Last year, Officer Shelby shot and killed Terence Crutcher after she said he refused repeated commands and after she says Crutcher appeared to be reaching through the window of his SUV.

The state says the shooting was manslaughter.

On Friday, Shelby is scheduled to be back in court for a pre-trial evidence hearing. Court records show attorneys and the judge still have several things to review, including juror questions, before the trial begins.
