Abundant Sunshine Today With Weak Front Expected

Pleasant weather will remain today with abundant sunshine and highs in the lower to mid-50s.   The pattern will become active with several waves approaching the state soon.   Colder air may arrive for the middle of next week. 

Calm weather will remain for the short term with temps this morning dropping into the 20s and 30s.   Daytime highs will rebound into the mid-50s today along with sunshine and light winds.   Southerly winds will return later tonight into Wednesday morning with a chance for a few showers across southern OK and north TX.   Lows Wednesday morning will be in the upper 30s with highs in the lower to mid-60s.   A weak front will cross the area Wednesday afternoon and evening bringing a noticeable cool down Thursday with lows in the upper 20s and lower 30s.   Highs in the lower 50s are likely Thursday.  

Friday into the weekend will present a storm system nearing the southern plains with a few chances for showers into the weekend for a few locations.

News On 6 Weather In Depth    

The first wave will pass near or south of the state Friday night into Saturday.   The 2nd system will near the region Saturday night into Sunday, and a third nearing the area early next week.   This will mean low chances for a few showers Friday to the south with a slight chance for a few showers across eastern OK Saturday into the evening hours.   The third wave will have a higher chance for precipitation Sunday night into Monday.   The temperature profile for the event should keep any precipitation potential all liquid.  

Temperatures Saturday morning will be in the lower 40s with highs in the lower to mid-50s.   Sunday morning temperatures will be in the mid-30s with highs in the upper 40s or lower 50s.   Monday morning the lows will be in the upper 30s or lower 40s with highs in the upper 50s or lower 60s.   Colder air will be likely Tuesday through middle of next week.
