Tulsa's River Spirit Expo Center was turned into a giant dirt track Monday evening.
Crews brought in nearly 700 loads of clay to create the track for the Tulsa Shootout and Chili Bowl.
Drivers started bringing in some of the 900 vehicles that will race. One car is even coming all the way from Australia.
The organizer said the shootout is what got the Chili Bowl started.
Emmett Hahn, Tulsa Shootout: "When we ran this race 32 years ago, that's when I said 'well, if we could get some midgets and named drivers in here, well then we could have a different show," said Emmett Hahn with the Tulsa Shootout.
The Tulsa Shootout will begin Wednesday and the Chili Bowl will get started January 10, 2017.
