A national non-profit program is helping disabled kids get around in battery-operated cars.
The "Go Baby Go" lab at the University of Delaware makes special modifications to these vehicles, such as adding an "ability button" to make the cars easier to operate.
For Ryan, the car helps him get outside and play with friends. His car now provides extra support to his head and body.
"In the evenings where everyone is playing, all the kids are out. He gets to take his car out and he gets to be like everyone else," Ryan's mother Paula Philio told CBS News.
Although the University of Delaware is the home of "Go Baby Go," volunteers are invited to organize and host sessions on how to build these cars. Visit the website for more information.
