'Kringle's Christmas Land' Opens At Promenade Mall

There's an old saying, about anything worth having is worth waiting for. Well, that could be true of Kringle's Christmas Land.

It took longer than planned to get open, but it’s worth the wait.

This is year number two for Ben Sumner’s Kringle's Christmas Land, and this year much bigger.

"This used to be 2 different stores," he said.

So he has more than twice the room as last year and many more animatronic characters to make his Christmas Land come to life.

Sumner: "I got a lot of them."
Rick: "How many do you have?"
Sumner: "Over 500."

He's included as many as he can in this year's display.

At one point in the walk through it snows, in fact, it's like a blizzard.

There are lots of elves in the reindeer barn getting ready for the big trip, and also in the workshop.

"This is what the kids love the most, seeing all the elves. This is where the toys are made," Sumner said.

Also where memories are made for kids, or recalled old memories for adults, when department stores had scenes like these in their windows.

"It puts you in the Christmas spirit if you aren't yet," Sumner said.

Kringle's Christmas Land is open at Promenade Mall through December 31st.
