After the morning, fog problems improve. An upper level wave moving overhead this afternoon will bring shower chances back to Oklahoma. The most likely area for seeing showers will be southeastern Oklahoma with the Tulsa metro staying mostly dry.
Breezy south winds today with highs near normal in the low 50s.
Today an arctic air mass is moving into the northwestern region of the U.S. This air mass will move over Oklahoma tomorrow night. The surface cold front will move through Tuesday morning bringing a cold north wind and cooler air.
The real cold air will not arrive until Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. An upper level wave nearby will provide enough support for some snowfall especially northeast of Tulsa. Accumulation on grassy surfaces could be possible. Don’t plan on a snow day though.
The coldest morning of the week will be Thursday morning when wind chill values could dip into the low teens. You’ll want to make sure kids are bundled up when going outside. Bring small pets indoors and for outside pets, make sure they have a warm and dry shelter.
Here’s to a the first possible snowfall of the season!
