As fire season begins in Oklahoma, crews worked much of Wednesday putting out flames.
In Sperry, more than 100 acres burned on private property in a rural area south of Highway 11 and west of North Peoria.

Crews spent hours taking on high winds and dense brush before getting the fire under control.
Thursday, the Sperry police chief said a cause has yet to be determined and is still under investigation.
The Sand Springs Fire Department was also busy battling a house fire Wednesday.

Thursday, Sand Springs Fire Marshal Stan Smith said the cause of the fire was an overloaded electrical system.
He said the house is likely a total loss.
In that fire, one firefighter was transported and checked out after being shocked when he backed into an exposed AC unit.
