Tulsa Fire Department worked to resuscitate a man at house fire in the 300 block of East Zion Street Wednesday morning. The man was pulled from a small wood-framed house after a neighbor called to report the fire around 6:15 a.m.

Firefighters said they found the man lying on the floor in a hallway near a back bedroom. Firefighters and EMSA paramedics performed CPR and other live-saving measures.

The victim is now at the hospital. Stan May with Tulsa Fire Department said as of 8:15 a.m., the man is in critical condition.

The fire centered in the front section of the home. Crews quickly got it under control though smoke was still coming from the house for some time.

A Tulsa Fire investigator has been called in to determine the cause of the fire. They suspect it may have been a space heater.

Captain Brent Goins said it took about three minutes from their arrival to find the man and start CPR.
