The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Tulsa man is in critical condition after a Cherokee County DUI crash Friday evening.

Troopers said David Franklin, 57, was headed west on a county road in a 1968 Chevy Corvette when he drove off the road, hitting a tree at 7:41 p.m.  The crash happened just over 15 miles south of Tahlequah.

The OHP report states Franklin was admitted to a Tahlequah hospital with a head injury.

In their report, troopers said there was an odor of alcohol on the driver.  They also said Franklin was not wearing his seat belt.
