Our coldest morning of the fall brought freezing temperatures back to all of eastern Oklahoma Saturday morning, and the chilly air will stay settled in over Green Country for the rest of Saturday.
We’ll see abundant sunshine throughout Saturday, but thanks to a chilly air mass and high pressure in place, we’ll only reach the low to mid 50's for afternoon highs. Winds will be much lighter than the past few days, on the order of 5 to 10 miles per hour for most of Saturday.
Freezing temperatures look likely again across the majority of eastern Oklahoma overnight into early Sunday morning, with upper 20's to low 30's once again expected. Keep those tender plants covered up, and make sure your outdoor pets have plenty of ways to stay warm if they can't come inside.
A bigger warm-up will ensue on Sunday as mostly sunny skies continue! An increasing south-southeast breeze will keep things quite chilly during the Route 66 Marathon in downtown Tulsa Sunday morning, but by Sunday afternoon we should see highs return to the low 60's.
Temperatures will climb well above average once again to start off the upcoming week, with highs returning to the mid to upper 60's Monday into Tuesday and south winds becoming very breezy.
An approaching storm system will bring a slight chance for scattered storms on Tuesday before ushering in slightly chillier air on Wednesday for the big travel day before Thanksgiving.
