You may have heard of 'Little Free Libraries' which are small neighborhood projects where you can take a book and leave a book.

There are two or three in our area, but did you know there’s also a 'Little Free Pantry' for food.

It’s located outside Night Light Tulsa's headquarters on West 23d Street; it's not a Night Light project, they just provided the space.

It’s actually the brain child of Taylor Henley - she saw a Facebook posting about a similar project in Arkansas.

"I decided, instead of just liking the video, we should go a step further and implement it here in Tulsa," Henley said.

So she went to her boss, Nancy Bruce at Lambrusco'z, and after searching for the right location, they went for it.

"Let's put up a box and see what happens," Bruce said.

So they bought a cabinet on Craigslist, painted it and stocked it. The concept is pretty simple, and it's open 24-7.

Henley said, "You take as you need and you put stuff in it as you can."

Here's the best part, it's been open a week and it's working.

There are partners too; Einstein Brothers Bagels and Promenade Mall have offered to help and the Lambrusco'z locations downtown and in Brookside are drop-off locations.

If you interested in getting involved, you can find more information here.
