With Halloween on Monday, this is shaping up to be a weekend filled with spooky fun, and Tulsa police are in on the act with their Haunted Precinct.

This is the seventh year TPD has hosted the Halloween event, and for many, it is a welcomed event while fears of pranksters and violent clowns have been a focus this Halloween season.

When it comes to Halloween, there's only one thing on a child's mind, candy. And to get candy at the Haunted Precinct, a costume is required.

Friday, kids were dressed as Harley Quinn, Tinker Bell, Captain America and more; but one costume has some parents on edge this year, clowns.

Parent Maria Pena said, “I’ve told them about it and they’ve seen it on the news before.”

The recent clown attacks have parents like Pena and Cindy Thomas taking precautions.

“And I don't know what they'll do to us or my kids," Thomas said.

Some plan to limit trick-or-treating time and keep their kids close by.

Pena said, "They always stick with me.”

"You might want to be a little cautious about throwing on a clown outfit this year," Captain Thomas Bell with TPD said.

But in case families won't be going door-to-door this Halloween, TPD held the annual Haunted Halloween Precinct.

"We've got all kinds of cool police equipment for them to look at. The Tulsa Fire Department is here," Bell said.

And, of course, there is a lot of candy.

There are other safe Halloween activities this weekend - Broken Arrow is doing its night out Saturday, hoping that families will come dressed up to celebrate the spooky holiday.
