Power lines fell onto Peoria Avenue near 23rd Street, blocking all lanes of traffic temporarily starting around 10:30 a.m. As of about noon, Tulsa Police are diverting northbound traffic through Woodward Park.
A PSO spokesman said the company said the lines at 23rd and Peoria were downed due to the storm that moved through town. They believe the lines were hit by lightning.
Tulsa Police blocked all lanes to keep traffic away from the area until PSO could arrive and remove the lines to do repairs. About 400 customers lost power, but their service has been restored.
The storm that moved through caused scattered outages across Tulsa.
