One man is dead and another person is in the hospital after a double shooting that happened at the Savanna Landing/Fairmont Terrace apartments.
Tulsa police say the shooting happened around 4:20 p.m., and said it's the result of an altercation that happened Tuesday night but became violent Wednesday.
Crime tape sectioned off a large area inside the apartment complex near 60th Street and South Madison Avenue in Tulsa after multiple shots were fired.
Sergeant Dave Walker said people who have not been getting along got into some type of argument Tuesday night.
“It boiled over from last night, a gun was introduced today," he said.
Police said at least one person was targeted.
"Shots were fired at an individual, that individual was not hit," Walker said.
Somehow, the intended target managed to elude the bullets as police say he ran away, but police say two of the acquaintances could not escape.
Walker said, "I can confirm one is dead.”
Police said another person was also hit and taken to another hospital - the extent of the injuries is unknown.
Walker said it appears people were around a nearby silver car when the shooter opened fire.
"Best we can tell is we have no shooter right now, but he was with others," the sergeant said.
Walker said one of the victims was driven to the corner of 60th Street and South Peoria, where the victim was then taken by ambulance to the hospital.
Walker said it's the latest in a line of violent incidents in Tulsa this year.
"The whole city is inundated right at the moment with issues," he said.
The name of the deceased victim has not been released, but police say it’s a man in his 40s. Police have also not released the name of the second person that was shot.
Police said they have no suspect information at this time.
