Pryor Police will hold a safe medication disposal event on Saturday morning, October 21st.
Police say residents can either drop their unwanted medication at the Pryor Rec Center at 1111 SE 9th Street or call the police department at 918-825-1212, leave a message and the medications will be picked up.
Pryor police say the first 50 people to either drop off or have their medication picked up will receive a gift card.
The event is from 8 a.m. until noon on October 21st.
Recently, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics took nearly four tons of old, expired home medication to Tulsa's trash to energy plant for safe disposal.

The agency says since 2011, they have collected and destroyed nearly 120,000 pounds of home medication.
The OBN has 180 Drug Disposal Boxes in law enforcement lobbies across the state.
