Broken Arrow will soon have a freestanding rehabilitation hospital.
St. John Health System and HealthSouth broke ground Wednesday on the new 40-room all private inpatient rehab center.
The facility will help patients recover from strokes, trauma and brain injuries.
"We're just excited. It's a great thing for our community, certainly for our patients and for the development in Broken Arrow," said Jeff Nowlin, St. John Medical Center president and chief operating officer.
The project is expected to be completed in late 2017.
