An SUV hit two people and a dog while they were walking Thursday evening.

Officers said the two were walking three dogs in the 4600 block of South Columbia Avenue just before 8:15 p.m. when an SUV hit them and one of their dogs.

Police said a 61-year-old woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The 20-year-old man who was with her was taken to the hospital with what police said were non life-threatening injuries.

Police said the SUV driver stayed at the scene and is not suspected of driving under the influence.
