Friday night’s Wendy's Game of the Week will have eyes on it from all over the state.
It's a matchup between two of the top three teams in 6A-II, with top-ranked Bixby visiting No. 3 Muskogee.
The Spartans are coming off an impressive 70-28 win over Westmoore. The game will be their district opener and a chance to hand the Roughers their first loss on the season.
But they're doing their best to treat it like any other game.
"We go into every week thinking it's a big game,” said Bixby quarterback Tanner Griffin. “And this is a big game, so it kind of adds on to that. But everyone's excited; everyone's ready to go."
Bixby head coach Loren Montgomery stressed the importance of this week.
“They need to understand that it is a big game and it has big-time district implications,” he said. “But on the same token, we've been in big games this year, and if we go out and prepare and practice and get ready for this game like we do all the others, we'll be ready."
