Tishomingo Teacher Arrested For Indecent Proposals To Student

A Johnston County teacher was arrested for indecent proposals or acts with a 14-year-old student, according to court documents.

Shelley Duncan, 48, is a teacher and cheer coach in Tishomingo.

Court documents say the teen's mother called police after finding texts from Duncan on his phone.

"It’s just wrong,” said Tishomingo resident Andrew Beason.”She’s in all these authority positions. She’s helping the police department. She’s doing all this. She should know.”

Duncan is married to the superintendent and on the reserve with the Murray State College Police.

She posted $20,000 bond on Friday.
