Employees of the Church's Chicken in Owasso walked out Sunday around 2:30 p.m., Owasso Police said.
Customers in the store called OPD when they noticed that all the employees had left and that the restaurant was unmanned.
One customer said she arrived at the restaurant apparently right after the employees had left because she waited for five minutes in the drive-thru line but no one answered.
"Drove to the window, saw no one. Drove around and asked a man who had walked in when I pulled up. That's when I found out what was happening. I don't understand," wrote Nichole Hilliard on The News On 6 Facebook post about the incident.
Owasso Police said it went to the restaurant to investigate since it seemed suspicious but upon arrival found the restaurant completely abandoned.
An officer contacted store management who said they were aware of the situation and had someone en route to secure the store, OPD said.
Owasso Police stayed at the restaurant until management arrived.
The News On 6 went to the restaurant and attempted to speak with management but they declined to comment.
OPD said it didn't know the reason behind all the employees leaving.
