Tulsa police are investigating an officer involved shooting.
Friday night, officers responded to the area of 36th Street North and Lewis. News On 6 reporter Tony Russell says that area is blocked going westbound.
Officer Jeanne Mackenzie said officers were going to an unrelated call when they came across a silver SUV blocking traffic in both lanes.
She said officers approached when a man, not inside the vehicle, appeared. She said the man approached the officers and refused to listen to officers when they told him to stop and put up his hands.
Mackenzie said the man then reached inside the SUV and the officers fired a Tazer. She said a few minutes later one shot was fired.
Right now injuries are unknown but EMSA was on scene.
Mackenzie said detectives are still processing the scene and, right now, it's unknown if the man was reaching for a weapon.
