Rogers County deputies used social media to make a couple of thefts arrests after spotting what they said are stolen goods on Craigslist.

Deputies said they have had a lot of car break-ins lately in the Collinsville and Owasso area. Thieves got away with several guns and pairs of high-end sunglasses.

Law enforcement spotted some of the sunglasses for sale on the website and set up an undercover sting to buy them. Deputies Jon Hagan and Chet Hunter said they stopped two men on Highway 266 about a mile west of 193rd East Avenue Monday. They arrested the driver, Shane McCarty, for driving with a revoked license.

The deputies saw what appeared to be a gun on the passenger, Keenan Schaffer, when he got out of the vehicle, according to a news release. When asked, Schaffer admitted to having a pistol but said he had a license to carry concealed. Schaffer had a valid license for carrying the pistol, but then deputies learned it had just been stolen in Owasso.

Schaffer, 23, was arrested for knowingly concealing stolen property and failure to notify police of the gun before they asked. He has bonded out.

McCarty, 26, was arrested for the traffic offense and two drug complaints. He is being held on a $29,000 bond.
