More than 300 dancers in full Native American dress filled Oral Roberts University's Mabee Center Friday night.
It was the first night of the Pow Wow of Champions hosted by the InterTribal Indian Club of Tulsa. The three-day event features dancing, traditional foods, Princess coronation, and lots of traditional arts and crafts.
“You look at people that make things, Made in Oklahoma stuff is really big with me, and I like to go to events and vendings such as this where people do their own crafts," said Gene Ironman Smith.
The doors open Saturday at the Mabee Center at 11:00 a.m. with the Gourd Dance starting at noon.
Time and ticket information is available on the InterTribal Indian Club of Tulsa's website.
