Family heirlooms were returned to a Tulsa woman's yard after Melissa Hawkes reported on a fake Craigslist ad stated the items were being given away. The man said he saw the News On 6 story about the ad being fake, so he did the right thing and returned the items.

An eagle statue and bird bath were missing Tuesday morning when Leesa Lewis woke up. She said she saw a man driving slowly by her house, so she asked if she could help him. He said he was coming by to get the free bird bath and statue listed on Craigslist.

The problems were that the items had already been taken - and Leesa didn't post the ad.

Dozens of people came by the house because of the post. She was particularly upset because the items were given to her by her mother. She is very happy they are now back where they belong.

Her advice - make sure you knock on the door and ask before taking off with someone else's property.
