Rain didn't stop dozens of families from getting their kids ready for the upcoming school year with the annual Broken Arrow Back-to-School Bash.
Kids received free haircuts, shots and all the school supplies they need to start the year right.
“We want every child to every child to be successful,” said crime prevention specialist Lisa Ford.
“If we can make them feel good about themselves with a free haircut, take the stress off of parents so they don't worry about school supplies, ‘cause we know how expensive those are, anything we can help. And if we can intermingle with our police officers and the children, then it's a win, win for everybody."
The Broken Arrow police and fire departments were there to demonstrate some school safety procedures.
The event lasted from 9 a.m. to noon.
