Court documents filed this week in Washington County court reveal more information about the murder of a 64-year-old Dewey woman. Dewey Police have arrested the woman's grandson in her death.
Investigators said they found Alvita Shimko in the living room of the mobile home she shared with her grandson, Donald. Donald Shimko told officers he woke around 4 a.m. July 20 and found his grandmother.
After trying to revive her, he called 911, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
She had a large amount of blood on her face when police arrived at the home, the court document states.
Her body was released to a local funeral home after the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office waived jurisdiction, and an employee there called officers to say he found something suspicious while preparing her for burial. The affidavit states she had a 3-inch hole on the right side of her head just above her ear.

Officers returned to the mobile home to secure the crime scene. They took Donald Shimko into Bartlesville where he was interviewed by detectives. Police said Shimko confessed to hitting his grandmother at least once in the head with a wooden baseball bat that was recovered at the scene.
He told officers "he had been playing a video game, he had become angry at the game and had "blacked out," the affidavit states. He then told officers he had "'come to' standing over his grandmother with the baseball bat in his hand and his grandmother was bleeding."
Shimko, 19, is being held for first-degree murder with a bond set at $500,000. The Washington County court clerk said he was charged with the crime on July 22.
