The Coweta School District is checking out the storm damage on campus after Thursday afternoon’s storms.
Right now crews are starting the cleanup process here at the junior high, both inside and outside of the school.
They're using tarps to cover the holes in the roof in effort to avoid any more problems if it rains tonight, and starting to dry the carpet inside.
But there's a lot of work ahead.
Two other school buildings - the Mission Intermediate Grade Center and the Old Ricky Brian Field House - had air conditioning units blow off the roofs, causing some damage.
Thankfully, even though there were people inside some of the buildings when the storm blew through, everyone is safe.
He said everything will be ready for students to go back to school as planned on August 11th.
"We've also, we're building some new buildings right now, so, with all the fun, we're having trying to make sure school's ready in the new buildings,” Holmes said. “This is just adding to it, but we have great people and a great community, so we'll be fine."
On the other side of the junior high is the alternative education building. The superintendent said all of the shingles blew off that building, adding to the list of repairs that need to be made before school starts.
