Authorities have resumed the search for the body of a man who drowned in Skiatook lake. The Coffeyville resident went missing at a swimming area in Osage Park near the Highway 20 bridge.

The Army Corps of Engineers is on the water Tuesday morning.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said just before 5 p.m. Monday, Chance Humble jumped off a boat here near the bridge to go swimming. They say he went under at a point where the water is 35 feet deep.

He resurfaced, had enough time to throw his hat onto the sundeck of the boat, but went under again and didn't come back up.

Troopers say he wasn't wearing a personal flotation device.

A diver told News On 6 Tuesday morning that the swimming area is just north of the bridge and at points, it's 60 feet deep there.

On Monday, OHP used side scan and 360 sonar as well as dragging techniques to try to recover the 36-year-old man's body. Dive team members were also activated, a report states.

Troopers aren't saying yet if there were any witnesses or what type of boat it was, but they did say Humble's next of kin have been notified.
