Crews are responding to a fire at the GRDA Chouteau plant.
According to GRDA officials, the Coal-Fired plant caught fire Friday evening after a lightning strike.
They say the fire is in the second unit of the building and believed to be in the turbine area.
Justin Alberty with GRDA said the lightning strike disabled a pump that lubricates the turbines. He said the turbine continued to spin and caught fire.
Several fire crews are working to put out the flames at the plant along Highway 412 a few miles east of the Highway 69 interchange.
No injuries have been reported and the GRDA said all employees are safe and accounted for.
