The University of Tulsa has two former student-athletes competing at the U.S. Olympic Trials, July 1-10, in Eugene, Oregon, including Bryce Robinson and Carl Stones. In addition, two current student-athletes will race at the 2016 Canadian Championships, July 7-10, including Ben Preisner competing for a spot on the Canadian Olympic Team, and Braydon Rennie, who will be looking to qualify for the World Juniors in Poland.

Robinson, a six-time All-American who completed his Tulsa career this past season, will compete in both the 100 and 200-meters at the U.S. Olympic Trials, while Stones (2008-12), a 2012 Tulsa All-American, will race in the 3000m steeplechase.

Robinson’s qualifying time in the 100m for the Olympic Trials was 9.99, which tied for the ninth fastest time among the American runners, while his 200m time of 20.36 was the 27th fastest time. Stones had the 24th best qualifying time for the Olympic Trials of 8:35.59.

The 100-meters first round will be run on Saturday (July 2), while the 100m semifinals and finals will take place on Sunday (July 3). Robinson will race in the 200m first round on Thursday (July 7), while the semifinals will take place on Friday (July 8) and Saturday (July 9). The first round of the 3,000m steeplechase will be Monday (July 4) and the finals on Friday (July 8).

The Canadian Championships begins next week in Edmonton, Alberta, and will carry-on for four days, Thursday-Sunday, July 7-10. Rennie, an upcoming sophomore on the Tulsa track team, will participate in the 1,500-meter qualifying race on the first day of competition, while the 1,500m semifinals and finals will take place in each of the next two days.

Preisner, who will be a junior in the fall at Tulsa, will run in the 3,000m steeplechase Olympic qualifying race on Saturday (July 9).
