Police believe a man missing from Canada since May could be in the Tulsa area.
Jericho Labonte was reported missing in May, officials said. His last known sighting there was May 31 in Chilliwack, B.C. and said he was headed toward Kelowna.
According to reports, on June 29, 2016, the Victoria Police Department received information from a Good Samaritan driving from Albuquerque to Tulsa that they picked up a hitchhiker on I-40 heading east.
The driver said the man identified himself as Jericho from Canada and left the driver a note. Labonte’s father confirmed the writing and signature belonged to his son.
Police said the driver last saw Labonte Wednesday night near Apache and Yale.
According to police, he was last seen wearing a dark gray shirt with a beige flannel on top and brown pants. They said he also had a pair of black pants and a black jacket with him.
Officials say Labonte summers from an undiagnosed mental illness.
They said he has no source of income, no belongings and no ID. Police also said Labonte considers himself a “freeman of the land” and has no cell phone.
