An Oklahoma Highway Patrol chase ended in a crash just in rural Washington County early Wednesday.

Troopers said the crash happened at 6:41 a.m. just over one mile north of Ochelata on a county road.

The OHP says the chase began when a trooper saw Kenneth Sharp, 43, of Inola driving at a very rate of speed.  During the chase, troopers said Sharp failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the road, hit a fence and rolled his car.

The trooper's report states Sharp was taken to a Bartlesville hospital and admitted in fair condition.

The OHP says Kenneth Sharp was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
