Two people are in jail after a man led police on a chase throughout east Tulsa. Robert Kleweno and Mark Whitehead are in jail Sunday morning after Kleweno led police on a chase.
It all started when an officer was flagged down by a woman saying a person in a red pickup was hitting her car last night at 21st and South Memorial. the officer got out of his car and tried to stop the driver of the red pickup.
Kleweno didn't stop, and that's when a chase began.
Police say the driver led officers up and down Memorial before crashing into a wall. He was able to keep driving and led police through a neighborhood westbound on 25th to Sheridan.
The chase continues for about a half an hour, and the driver ended up pulling into an apartment complex around 6900 East 15th Street. Police arrested Kleweno for driving while under the influence, endangering others, and two hit and run complaints.
Even though police say he was arrested without incident, things didn't end there. His roommate, Mark Whitehead, caused some trouble for officers and they arrested him for obstruction of justice.
Whitehead ignored police commands after the chase, talking on his cell phone and to apartment residents instead of following instructions, according to an arrest report.
The driver is in jail on $16,000 bond.
