There haven’t been many updates for the plans on the Davenport Urban Lofts in the Brady District lately.

Developers say that’s because they are listening to what the public wants. They say they want to do the project right, no matter how long it takes.

Realtor Carol Brown said, "They are waiting until they have enough people saying, ‘this is what we want to do.’ And the exciting thing is, they are well on their way, even at this point."

The Davenport Urban Lofts are planned for the half-acre lot next to Sound Pony and down the street from Cain's Ballroom; five of the 26 units are already reserved.

The updated concept includes 5,000 square feet of retail on the first floor, an extra floor of living space, and the units are larger than originally planned, because that's what people wanted.

Prices range from around $500,000 to $800,000 and 1,700 to 2,500 square feet.

“They've gone back a little bit and tweaked it and said ‘let’s go back with a much better project,’ and it is because they're listening,” Brown said.

Another concern they heard was noise from the neighborhood, so the walls will be specially sound proofed.

"In case this [loud noises] is going on outside, this [moves sound proofing over simulated noise] is quiet as a mouse inside your home," said Brown.

They also added big kitchens and high-end appliances.

Meagan: “So research has shown that this is going to work?”
Brown: “Oh yes, no question about it. The developers live down here and they want a walkable Tulsa and know they're not alone."

It’s because of that, that the construction timetable is whenever enough people commit.

“This is not a project that will come to downtown and sit. It will be fully ready to go and thriving and lived in from the get go," Brown said.
