A man was taken to a Tulsa hospital after he was struck by lightning on Saturday evening while fishing, officials say.
Two men were kayak fishing when one of them was hit by lightning on the Arkansas River near 31st Street as a storm moved through Tulsa before 6 p.m.
The Tulsa Fire Department says the other man and someone on shore tried to help. The victim and his friend were clinging to a rock in the river when firefighters arrived to rescue them.
EMSA transported the victim to a hospital.
